You can make a few dollars on Helium.com if you like to write seriously.
It's free to join, and right now they'll pay you a dollar to write to specific titles which have no articles. Their minimum is 400 words, so it's not too oppressive. If you decide to join, I can send you a link, and I THINK there's a slight $$ incentive for me for doing so. I've been on there since( I think) '06 or '07. No harm, o foul if not into it. I have never tried to sign anyone up before.
