I agree and for some, the wounds are slow to heal and the scars never fade.

It's a side of me I don't show often, but I most certainly realize it's there. I keep it tucked away along with the cruelty and brutality, hidden out of sight, but easily accessible if ever the need arises.

I'm not sure she would've given me her number anyway, but if I had to guess, I think she would. Though she never asked what I was up to (beyond my marital status), she correctly assumed I'm "successful," whatever that means. Often, that fact above all others, determines a man's attractiveness.

My past is extremely important to me, but I won't, nor can I live in it. This idea makes burning a few symbolic bridges possible. There could come a day when I regret this decision. If so, I'll deal with it when the time comes.

Well, if I expect people to read it, the least I could do is provide something worth the time and effort.

Yes, they can, but in a strange way, it's one of the many things that makes life worth living.

I read recently that cheer leading was declared, by a judge in a lawsuit, to be a contact sport. I guess the judge got that one right; people can get hurt in those games.

Good for you, no use digging up what could or may have been. I wonder, if you would have said that you were single, would she still have given you her number? Just curious

You really do burn bridges like in a song that I used on my blog recently. That’s cool for you. However be careful with fire. BCA, Bill*s Ca

These revisionist posts are so well written; but then again, everything you write is well written. One can tell you take care of doing things right when you write.

Maybe you're right. In later years I learned attitude has a tremendous impact on how a person is viewed. How we see ourselves influences how other see us.

There wasn't going to be any trouble. I learned long ago how to avoid it. First and foremost, stay far away from people like her.

Talion, maybe you were cuter than you thought, back then.
I've seen your photo, you and Queen V in wedding garb, and you clearly have never been whipped with an ugly stick. Shyness makes ugly ducklings of us all....
