House pigs I have raised and known

      Mike,

I was offered a little female chinese pot-bellied pig, and couldn't resist accepting. We named her Barbie. We tongue in cheek, said that her whole name was really Bar-B-Que, but whispered this, as though she would overhear. We got a lot of startled looks, gasps, and incredulous reactions! We introduced her to another of her breed, a male, and after mating, he got around to introducing himself and learning her name, I assume, not speaking pig. Porkers, take care of the important stuff first.

We kept a little male from her litter and named him Lumpy, for a lump on his neck. Barbie had to be banished to a pen in the front yard, because she refused to be house trained. I think that she didn't like the three steps from our kitchen, down to the back yard. Lumpy eventually had to have an addition to his Mom's pen attatched against hers. Lumpy was paying unwanted aggressive to human female visitors. They both eventually died and remained untasted. Can't eat a pet, regardless of the old joke about the three legged pig.

Great story. Keep up the good work.

          Guy
