Re: Re: Re:
If it comes across as cowardly then it is only because you are reading that into it. My post had nothing to do with Obama period, it was about some senator. I try to judge Obama by his words and his actions, not by statements of loony senators.

Re: Re:
Actually, you did refer to Obama by name, though only implied that he was on the same side through guilt by association.  I consider that deceptive and cowardly as a tactic, which is why I mentioned it.  As for discussing such a thing on the senate floor, in fact, there used to be such a law, not all that long ago, so it is hardly outside American tradition.  And then there were all those statements by Bush's first Attorney General to the effect that anyone even questioning the administration's policies was giving aid and comfort to the enemy.  Hardly a defence of the freedom of speech or press.  But both of these are offensive to the constitution.  On that much we agree.

Communist? No.
Ignorant? Yes. Conflict of interest, as Corbin pointed out? Yes.

Re:
Check real time.......there's a list of thing building that Obama may have said he would or would not do......that have been cast into the wind......

The real irony here is that the Senator pushing for this.....her husband has owned  "Liberal" talk radio stations and networks......Hmmmmm???  Could it be that he would benefit from this  wave of "fairness"??   Naw....couldn't be......

Re:
I never mentioned Obama. The fact that a major elected official even discusses it on the floor is offensive to the constitution. That was my point.

Check your history.  Obama has said he opposes the Fairness Doctrine, and many of us who supported his candidacy agree with him.  That senator from Michigan needs to re-read the First Amendment.
