well pole dancing at the Olympics would be more entertaining for me than
that silly water thing where girls disappear into the water and out and up again with a peg on their nose.

I want to see the judging panel? lol Naut, I am in shock! But it is good!! My novel has been nagging me to no end lately! I got your note regarding Petronius' Satyricon! Astonishing work, but it is what I was looking to understand! My book has essentially three characters that carry it and how to fit the bits in was baffling me! I am so thankful for this info! Even Hemingway referred to this work! It is comparative (not in stature, but the theme if you will, the partying etal) to The Great Gatsby and that book only had about 5 hours of 'real time'! Shelly

Oh well, we already have skate dancers on ice, what is a bit more exposed flesh on a pole!

Oh I can see pole dancing as an Olimpic sport... hey watching nice looking , toned bodies wrapping themselves around shinny poles and bending every which way ( which by the way its not as easy as it looks)  beats any day watching a couple of adults squeesh into a tinny sled and rush down a narrow winding slide... or a couple of very fat men, with bellies hanging and dressed in diapers hug each other... Its about time we grow up and leave childish prudness and prejudices behind.  and yes... there is prejudice against beautiful bodies being exposed... perhaps we are all a little jelaous... :-)  I know I am  loll

Dancing in the streets is a risky business, even restricted to
the poles and street signs. Drivers are already distracted by their cell phones, trying to eat, smoke, put on makeup, send text messages or drink coffee while driving, etc. Dancers may just be one "bridge too far."  Although I do enjoy seeing hunky boy work crews with their shirts off...

Naut

An Olympic sport?  A bedroom or living room “sport” perhaps but I can’t see it going much further than that!    Oh, by the way… I read your other blog and was just so blown away at the quality of writing and the richness of the content that I was unable to comment.  Bravo to that one!
