Re: Your writing is excellent; well thought out, and your questions are valid.
Thanks for your observations TexasGem. As you noted, I do continue to believe in a Creator, and I assure you I have read and reread the Bible many times, and I am still relying on that "still small voice" for my answers...the Holy Spirit, if you will.

I agree that the labeling is man's idea, not God's, as is the patriarchy (though some would disagree on that point, I'm sure). What I am trying to do is sort through the murk that man has created for the essence hidden underneath.

Just to play devil's advocate here a minute: though your response is accepting of my search on the surface, there are still elements of "one-right-way" contained in it, i.e. the Word, Holy Spirit, and Jesus. Who's to say the bible of one of the "other" religions isn't the correct version? Or, the prophet of one of the "other" religions? Or, their version of God? (Please note that I have not necessarily come to believe any of these things are accurate, just putting forth the question).

For now, my foundation remains that I believe there is a Creator...and I believe that Creator has sent me on this journey of discovery.

Your writing is excellent; well thought out, and your questions are valid.

I'd like to share a few things that jumped into my mind as I read your writing.

First, in spite of man's smugness, indisgressions, inequaltities etc., we must focus on God. Man, since the beginning of time, has messed up what God intended for good.

Secondly, God is not interested, as man is, in our labels and tags. Budisim, Hinduism, Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, or whatever is of little consequence to God the way I see it.  God desires relationship pure and simple.

I respect your desire to know what is what, but to know that has to come from God. I am not belittling any of the forementioned religions. God is not into religion but again He desires relationship. Dogma, doctrines of man, and so forth will not wash away sin or perfect a person's life.  It is all about Jesus.

Please understand, I am not saying you are all wrong and I'm all right. I am saying search the Word and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal the truths that you seek.  Blessings!
