"Periodic Abstinence" helps keep our sex life creative and rewarding
I use natural family planning (NFP), a.k.a. sympto-thermal method, and there haven't been any surprises in the year since my cycles returned after giving birth (that pregnancy was pre-NFP).  I just take my temperature, watch for stretchy mucus, and find other ways to take care of my man on my fertile days.  I know my body very well now (which is cool in itself), so when we do want to conceive again, it should be fairly simple (especially judging from the first time!).  I'm also blessed with regular cycles.  Au naturel is the way to go...

About IUDs

IUDs are far less expensive than birth control pills, patches or injections. A woman who uses an IUD sees the doctor once to have it inserted and once to have it removed. A woman who wants to take the pill needs to keep buying it, and sometimes the doctor has to fiddle around with the dosage, necessitating more visits.

The IUD may be inserted into the woman, but it doesn't change her body chemistry like the pill.

In addition, there are many, many places in the world where men simply refuse to use condoms. Put all these things together, and you can see why the IUD is the method of choice in developing countries.

THE IUD????
THAT is the most common form of contraception worldwide???????? I just don't understand. It seems so invasive. Granted, I don't know what it looks like. Never seen one. I hear "coils." Makes me look over at my bill holder, which is a big gold COIL from Staples. How can IUD's be safe?

From Bunny
I forgot to share my method! We currently use condoms, but if I don't hit menopause soon, I'm going for sterilization. I want to have some condom-free fun while I can!

The best way if your done with child bearing
I chose the #1 method of sterilization. No room for error in my life. My kids are older so an accidental pregnancy at this point would look funny with my graying hair.

Bunny:
Wonky prefers the Pill + condoms (with spermacide).  Both are (supposedly) 99% effective, so combined they seem to do the job pretty well.
