I love it! And like you, I never did make the grade and got a CB, but that pale blue denim leisure suit? Oh yeah...now I gotta dig out the picture...

Well thank you for the kind words, Guy!
Glad you got a kick out of it.
Aside from Twain and I both being Southerners who hate politicians and preachers and love our spirits and smokejoy, sadly, we're no kin, except maybe in spirit.

We got us a CONVOY!

       Strat,

You never fail to entertain. This really took me back. My grandfather got into CB radio, HAM radio, and the earliest video cameras,(black & white) etc. We sold the old 19 or so channel radios, before they became 43 or so channel radios. Turns out the older radios were superior in range, clarity, and I don't know what all. I must remember different music from the 70's than you do. Granted, much was just awful. Still much well written and performed work came from this period.

As always, this was masterfully written, by "The Master Storyteller." Are you descended from Mark Twain?

My dad had the CB in the car, and the base station in the kitchen..
He'd crackle into life to let Mom know he was 20 minutes from home every work day, and I would start setting the table for dinner.  It was a natural for him--radio corps in WWII led him to radio astronomy, and eventually to the kitchen CB.

Wow! Must have been some kitchen, Kabu!
I'm guessing you've seen Mama Mia by now?

OMG The seventies. I loved the seventies...at the time.
ABBA was so big in Australia and purple and maroon suits for men with frilly shirt fronts and kitchen carpet; I just had to have kitchen carpet in my lime green kitchen; and I had two little boys.

They'd all get together every now and then. His handle was " The Bird Watcher"...OMG...........".Breaker..Breaker 1   9...what's yer 10   20"...lol..I bet I heard that a million times.  And I forgot all about that song Seasons in the Sun...lmao...I loved that song..I think I was in like 6th grade.when that was a hit...LMAo. Thanks for the flashback ! xxxoo
