That second picture...
...is to 'die-for'! I love how you captured the verticalness of the trees and the color of that lake! Very beautiful picture!

Re: Re: Wigopa, you will just have to come back again in the summer.
There are places you can only hike into, and some you can only admire from afar, in the national parks. There is horseback riding in and around parks, usually. And there is a state park here that is divided between foot trails (for 2 or 4 feet) in the south half, and off-roading and suchlike in the north half. That's Capitol Forest. I once was a volunteer there for a road rally. My job was to stand on a remote forest road on the last day of elk-season and tell guys with guns that they couldn't go down that road.
Right up there with being a javelin-catcher at the Olympics.

I might have to do that..I am guessing that there is some hiking, horseback riding, or four wheeling involved to get there...I haven't been to the mountians in a while..Sounds like a get-a-way in the making..

Wigopa, you will just have to come back again in the summer.
Mountain summer, that is, which is late summer and fall down here in the low lands!
There will be several feet of snow on these meadows up to June, very likely. Then it will be spring for a while, and finally, summer, briefly.

Re: Stunning!!
It would be ideal to have a little house in the midst of all the beauty of the alpine meadows... but everyone would want one!

TAPS, These very meadows are no doubt under many feet of snow now.

Naut, it really is a world apart--
only the most intrepid hikers get into such places, the rest of us view from afar.

Stunning!!
With places like that, no wonder some people never want to go back to "civilization."
