- Go to Obama
mneme
Although I am one of those people to whom colour is completely irrelevant, I nonetheless acknowledge that Obama's election is a positive development. It would not have been possible say, fifty or even thirty years ago. But I do not belive that his election will lessen the racial tensions that still exist in the US.
On the other hand, as someone who is politically conservative, I would of course have preferred a conservative President. I would like to see Condi Rice to run 2012...
Finally, although Obama has shown nothing while he was in the Senate, I do hope he grows out of his celebrity role and into the role of President, and will be successful...

Hope
I agree with all that you stated here, and I second it! I am feeling alot of hope in these hard times. There is something about this man that gives me reason to feel like things will be okay somehow. I could go into so much about my feelings about all of this, but I have to go to work! :) Nice thoughts!

I liked the speech. There was a bit of steel in it, resolve.
I'm more hopeful these days in spite of economic conditions.
