I enjoy reading your thoughts, this one inspired me to post something on my blog that i had been asked to write for a golden anniversary book that my school was bringing out, on what school meant for many of us. Some of us got lucky enough to have the advantage of parents and that institution. I hope you'll visit and read.

Your father was very wise! When my children came running to me, I would say I am not the referee! I can put a zebra shirt on, but you can't afford to hire me! They would get it worked out among themselves! It is pitiful for those who dish it out but can't take it! sam

EXACTLY RIGHT ON !!! There are a couple of bloggers on here that
need to understand this. If you want to dish it out, you better be able to take it.

Although I no longer have the physical presence of neither mum or dad
their teachings and words are constantly in my thoughts; you are lucky to have had this guidance many people are not; many blessings and thanks

Yes - learning to take as well as dish out
is part of growing. Of course, the latter is the easiest of the two, so practiced more.

Re: Or Woman enough etc
I like the way you think, and I like your style.

Or Woman enough etc

LOL I often think some people do need a dose of reality and by the same token I can take the bitter dish too. I may not agree with what you say, but by crikey I will defend to the end your right to say it, even if it hurts but by the same token, I will give you a sharp reply to get you to pull your head in a little and think about what you are saying.

I think that we all need to be able to express our views but we should not have to suffer fools and egotists or racists or sexism. we need to teach some the error of their ways at times. Doesn't mean that they will always like the lesson.
