Re: Ugh..you got me wondering...
ginnieb - the few times I have read that stuff, I have left weeping a tear for the future of humanity.

RedStatesMan - how does going to Cuba for a vacation speak volumes?
I'd be really interested to hear your answer, I'd bet it will be as convoluted as the rest of your thinking.

Re: RedStatesMan - isn't there a banjo that needs pluckin somewhere?
Thanks so much for adding to my collection. I am sorry that you are sick of winter but the fact that you have chosen to list Cuba as a certain vacation spot, speaks volumes! Playin' my banjo for you, just remember to never choose West Virginia as a vacation spot, ok? I've never been there but you get the picture.

Thank you for always respecting my differing beliefs.

TAPS. - I've come to accept being misquoted as inherent in a public forum
But it doesn't make it any easier to swallow. It really depends on the context and how the misquoted words are used.

RedStatesMan - isn't there a banjo that needs pluckin somewhere?

We have come to learn that subtleties or little things such as facts and reality are not your thing but could you try at least to read English? If English isn't your first language, ask for help from someone who can explain what it is you're responding to. This may in the future, save you from the effort of digging up a number of irrelevant comments to present as a rebuttal for a contention that was never expressed in this post. English lessons may help as well, start with the difference between plural and singular. Nowhere in this post do I say that I have never insulted a Christian (singular), as a matter of fact (sorry about using facts with someone who is allergic to them), there are a number of statements to be found in this very post where I concede exactly that. The point is that I was accused of using a broad sweeping generalization stating that all Christians (plural) are stupid. Unless you think that you represent all Christians? (I'm sure many of them are grateful that you do not),. . . it is something that I have never said.

Following is what I have said, some of it may apply to you:

" . . .both amongst believers and non believers, the entire spectrum of human intelligence is represented."

" . .they read something they do not like here in this blog, they cast a few stones my way, become mortally offended when their own crap is shoveled back towards them"

"Find where I have called Christians as a group stupid anywhere in this blog."

I underlined a couple of words in the off chance that you may actually comprehend the difference between what you have attempted to argue in your comment and what was said in this post . . . I don't hold out much hope for that . . . I've owned smarter dogs.

Re: Misquotes and misunderestimates
mousehop - sometimes a misrepresentation of our words indicates a lack of clarity with which we have expressed them. I know I have edited a blog or two over the years when realizing that someone else's misinterpretation was more my fault than theirs. Still, there are many skimmers on this site who don't really read and understand what they have read but respond anyways . . . they're always good for a laugh.

Re: You are probably the most civil participant on this network
calmcantey75 - thank you, I do try to see all perspectives . . . . as for the cold; for the first time in a long while, I'm sick of winter, mostly because it started so early this year. I'm heading to Cuba this coming Monday for a week in the sun. I can't remember ever looking forward to a trip so much.

Re: And I won't spend long here as I don't believe in JC
Norwood - everyone is welcome, though I do get a few comments from people that haven't quite figured out that civil dialogue will always foster a civil response, while insults are enthusiastically reciprocated.

Re: Gome, I came here to say nice work on Ariala's blog, and before that
Pat_B - thank you and thanx for stopping in. As for the blog templates, I enjoy doing them and feel they add a bit of character to this site. The only part I find a little dissapointing about them is that because of the different types of membership plans and the different formats used on this site, they cannot be used by everyone.

It is quite exasperating to be misquoted anywhere at all, not just on Blogit.  It makes one feel quite put out.

Let Me Set The Record Straight!

I will gladly enter as the ombudsman here. Please read the final paragraph before commenting.

RedStatesMan - you're right, I know nothing about you and with a little

luck, here's hoping it will stay that way.

Maybe you could have an adult proofread your comments before clicking on the Add Comment button. I dunno, it's just a thought. Not much point in addressing the rest of your comment, as usual it is nothing more than a string of clueless and disjointed gibberish but it probably makes sense to you.

RedStatesMan - how could I possibly view one of your comments as a joke?

I can only remember one or two comments out of dozens you have left on this blog where you were not a festering pinhead spewing ignorance, hate and vitriol. You come along after establishing this pattern and leave a comment you now say was a joke?

What do we do next, sit around singing cum bey ya together? Yeah, that was a joke too but the reality exists that if you want to engage in banter or civil dialogue with anyone, you cannot expect these things if you are unwilling to set the stage.

Re: This Blog Is Pathetic!

RedStatesMan - "BUT NEVER ATTACK MY BELIEFS! EVER! GET IT?" . . . or what, you will subject us to more of your convoluted bible hillbilly reasoning? You want others to respect your beliefs . . . you first buddy. Do you really think the world works that way? That you get to be a feeble minded fundie promoting discrimination and hatred while everyone else simply accepts your bullshit?

You always have the option of doing us both a favor and simply getting lost.

And my comment that produced the above response:

This Blog Is Pathetic!

What exactly is your problem? I do not blog daily to attack atheism. I do not even blog to attack atheism, I just try to understand why somebody can be so hell bent on something they do not believe in? 85% of American believe in God. You have your rights to suggest a Festivus obviously! No one is bursting down your door every Sunday threatening your family to go to church or death! So deal with it!  I could not care less that you are not religious. HOORAY! Go on with your life BUT NEVER ATTACK MY BELIEFS! EVER! GET IT?

So what you have here is a failure to communicate. Just kidding! Gomedome is correct! He has never called Chrisitans stupid. As you can see above not once has he ever said I, who he knows is a Christian, who happens to disagree with his point of view, was  stupid. Nope not once. Ignorance, yes, hillbilly reasoning, yes, clueless and disjointed gibberish, yes, but never has he called me stupid. This is just the last two months collection. So don't call gome a liar!!!

Misquotes and misunderestimates
I can't say I like being misquoted, but I fully expect to be misrepresented, and often find that both revealing and entertaining.  And even I admit some atheists are stupid.  Just some.

You are probably the most civil participant on this network

and fair to both sides.

Can you recall some of this cold you've been sending down here?

only G-d and I don't want to be shot!  Or is it those who don't believe in G-d you are shooting? Are all monotheists welcome and the polytheists the ones who  have to post and duck for cover???
