The first mistake most people make is trying to discover what the other sex wants. One can read all the books and magazines, watch all the talk shows, but still have absolutely no clue. Figuring out what the other sex wants is impossible. It can't be done no matter who you are or what you do. What is possible, however is figuring out what a particular member of the opposite sex wants. You make a great point. Honesty and sincerity, saying what you mean and meaning what you say is crucial, but they are only the first steps. One also has to know what to say, when to say it, and how to say it to get to the promised land, whatever it may be. That involves getting to know a person and allowing another to get to know us as best we can. We have to wade through all of the baggage and b.s., both our own and the other person's, get to the heart of the matter before we can truly know. Until we reach that milestone, we're only guessing or worse, assuming. My wife and I always knows what the other wants. We don't always get it, but we always know.
