Thanks Wiley. You find them in the fall October or November in the stores and greenhouses. Walmart usually sells the reasonably  .The building supply store like Rona etc sell them too. They sell out quickly I find. A gorgeous bloom in winter.

This is the third year that blooms are coaxed from it. I am amazed .You put in the garden for the summer then in September bring it inside and trim the leaves away and store  the bulb until November. Then you replant it and water it once a week until it grows again and blooms. When it was new it took about six weeks and bloomed in early January. I think it has less flowers now and the bulb is much smaller so this is a great surprise! An amaryllis has to be the fastest growing plant I hve ever seen. Red is a popular color .I had one called Appleblossom the was white with pink edges on the petals and a dark pink middle .So Pretty!
