I just got an email from a second cousin I didn't know I had...We found each other because of ancestry.com I am amazed how new days bring different things...And yes we should keep the stories so that the childern know where they came from...That is why I have been working on my family history...so that I can give it to my daughter so that she will know how she came to be..

I've done the same with our family stories
We had a cousin that we didn't know existed and she contacted my Mom. She has researched our entire family tree and came up from FL for a visit to see where it all started. She has really done an excellent job. She had pictures of Mom's mom and dad that she had never seen. We gathered up all our family photos and shared with her. I written down stories from Mom for the Campbell's. My Nannie's mom died in childbirth and she was raised by an uncle. When she got to be an adult and married with kids, she was listening to the radio and they were announcing people looking for people. She heard her father was looking for her and finally got to see him after many years. Mom said she was 9yo and came home from school and Nannie told her she was headed for Kentucky to see her father. She hopped on a train the next morning.
