I'm sorry to hear about the death of your friend, and your recent dealings with a lot of death.

I wish you the best. This is the first I've read of your blog, and although it's seemingly grim at this time, the atmosphere of your village greatly interests me, it seems so different from anything I've ever known. I grew up in a small town in New England, but there was still a level of isolation that seems to be absent from your home place. Now I live in a small city in Florida, and I am truly amazed if I ever see anyone I know when I go to the store or bank, except of course the workers that I say hi to.

Precious in the sight of the Lord...
is the death of his saints. To live is Christ and die is gain. It is a win-win situation. Blessings!

A Lesson to Learn

Death was one of my biggest fears until I spent that year being the the nurse on call whenever a patient died and having to help families with the grief, the funeral home and funeral planning the coroner, the sheriff and police department and EMTs and when or if all or any of these had to called. This was after Richard and I had married and he had been given 3 years to live so I not only faced it at work but at home also. Obviously it was a life lesson I had to learn to overcome the fear and truly understand about death. Many Blessings to you and to the families who have had loved one's transitioned over.
