femme, I say head butt them. Heh heh, Happy New Year.
May you find some way to escape the house as per tradition tomorrow.
Maybe just to the front walk and back, or does it count to just step outside onto a small porch or to just open the door and stick one's nose out into the frosty air???
I had a Brasilian dog who would have the door opened in Washington, D.C. for her to go outside and pee in the winter and would just look out that door and turn around, back into the house.
We would throw her into the snowdrifts and she would hop like a bunny back to the house, without peeing. Problems for the winter with her.
I know the feeling. I am going to bed early tonight and spending the day in pyjamas in the house, my treat for me.

I can already hear the celebratory gunfire, it is only 7:48 p.m. and want to kick idiots in the head over that. People die each year somewhere in Arizona from gunfire into the air.
Now come the police sirens. They have some kind of tracker that they are using this year. A ver if it works.....

You definitely should take the bull by the horns and
let them know who's the boss. When workers make their own schedules and work when they want to, it always creates problems. Be firm and let them know that any changes go through you. Happy New Year!
