Music and Politics

I can't believe you wrote this piece. I was planning to start up a heavy rock band in 2009 called "The RedStatesMen". We would run out on stage dressed in suit and ties carrying the American flag, proudly placing it in a flag holder on stage. The stage would be surrounded by balloon type caricatures of well known democrats. We would then grab our guitars, walk up to the mic, rip our suits and ties off to dispaly jeans and a t-shirt then the music. Then we rip into Thunderstruck (by AC/DC) except the words are changed to convey our conservative political message. While we play members of the band would take turns swinging their guitars at the liberal caricatures slamming them to the ground.... I am sure Ted Nugent would be proud!

What do you think? Different, huh? I am at a perplexed by your message here becuase I am not sure what it says about myself. I am of the best rock era, the 70's. Aerosmith, AC/DC and many southern rock bands were and still are my favorite music. As a matter of fact, my wife gave me AC/DC's latest CD for Christmas, "Black Ice". Funny for a Christian conservative, huh? I just tell her that I must be going through a mid-life crisis. I realize that the whole 'evil' persona of these bands are for marketing purposes. However, I do like other types of music as well. I will never forget what I heard a young lady say one time, "I really like Led Zeppelin, he is great!" LOL! I could not refuse the temptation so I told her "I always liked Lynyrd Skynyrd, he is great too! LOL!!!!!!!

Entertaining as always, even frequently correct, and man, are you ever right about the music...
