What a serenely chilly, fresh and crisp post, warmed by bird thoughts.
I had to go put on a wooly neck scarf after reading it, and was grateful to hear the heater kick on once again, but otherwise, I could reread and reread this one.
Reminded me of the solid white ice on my van windows as I left Mom's house two midnights ago. I had no scraper, so I gathered abandoned water bottles and poured their leftovers on the windows, Christmas music playing, "Bobbed tails ring, are ya' listenin?", colorful and brightly bowed bags of Christmas gifts on the back seat, new Bolivian wool neck scarf wrapped three times around my neck, and gloved hands happy.
I sat in the van until the heater had made it all toasty and then I drove home, so very very seasonally happy, alone on almost empty roads, lightly dusted on their sides with frost in the foothills, and in the city, wet roads glistening in the many Christmas lights. Yummy.
The snow and cold make our minds see differently, it seems.
Happy New Year to you and to yours. I am about to erase my One Computer's harddrive, if given a moment to stay home for one day, so my Blogit return, once that step is taken, is in God's and this forgetful old woman's hands. Scary.....I have been posting from my visiting sister's laptop, mostly, but this one at home works well in the mornings.
