As far as the novel goes, the end is in sight. I'm taking a break until the holidays are over, but then I'm right back on it. I plan to finish sometime in January. Same as Kabu, I'll email you a copy when it's done.

I heard it in a rap song over a decade ago. I was surprised she knew it. Thanks.

I won't post any of it here, but as soon as I finish a readable draft, I'll email you a copy.

and like some other commentors, I never heard the term "Jimmy hat."  Familiar embarrassing story, told in a new way. I love your writing, Talion. Hope you can get back to the book one soon day -- I intend to buy a copy. I remember the how compelling were the parts you shared on Blogit.

Write!

The "Jimmy Hat" is a new one on me.  I've never heard that one before.  The rest of the names I'm familiar with.  LOL
I did see "The Golden Girls" episode.  I don't know which was funnier, that or this.  You're a great writer.

Actually, I am writing a book, but it's fiction and far darker than the events in my "real" life. One of these days I'll get around to finishing it.

That would've been the perfect answer, but alas, he was too embarrassed to think clearly. I've seen a few episodes of the Golden Girls, but must have missed that one.

the first thing that came to my mind before I even read the post was "no - I'll just wear it now" - like when you buy shoes or hats. that was hilarious. i don't know if you have ever watched the golden girls (probably not) but there is an episode where they each buy a pack for a vacation and try to smoothly under the radar buy them, and the cashier gets on the loud speaker for a price check.
