Naut,you're right--
That first one drew my eye and lens because I saw the heart there. The second was so old, it actually looked natural: the tree has owned the carving!
Eventually I will have enough of these to make a line of Valentines.

Fabulous pictures. The top one is partly the result of the angle the picture was taken from, and the resulting shade. And I wonder how many years ago someone carved the heart into that tree, thinking of his love...

That top pic is incredible, especially for it's being a natural formation.
You've got quite a photo gallery going. You can probably find a lot of hearts in nature.
That would make an interesting book....race ya to it!! LMAO
