Re: Re: Re: Poor kitty! I'm wondering how the symptoms appeared
Ciel, they say he will start to gain weight back soon, but his muscles will take a little time to build. It's only been one day that he's been given insulin, though, and he already seems a little more energetic. I am getting used to the idea of it, now we just have to figure out: how it's best to check his sugar, if his diet is okay, if the amount we're giving him needs to be regulated.

I hope he feels much better soon, now you know the problem. Will his muscles recover?

Re: luz brian
Thanks a lot! It's good to hear that animals can still live healthy, normal lives ewith diabetes, I'd never heard of animal diabetes before. Spaz has lost a bit of weight since that picture, that's what tripped our suspicions that something was wrong. He's certainly still a happy cat, though.

aw i hope things go well for spaz. my last dog had diabetes and she lived past the life expectancy, so there's a good chance he is quite healthy. he certainly looks content and well-fed!

Re: Poor kitty! I'm wondering how the symptoms appeared
Ciel, we noticed that Spaz had been loosing a lot of weight. At first we thought it was good, he's always been overweight. But the other day he jumped off the table and nearly fell. My husband felt his back legs and there's barely any muscle left on them. He's always been about twenty pounds, so his back legs are normally solid muscle mass. He's only six years old, so we knew it wasn't anything old-age related. We also have his brother, who is identical except for the color, so there is a comparison to let us see just how drastic his weight loss has been.
