As usual I thoroughly enjpyed this. Ah the baby boomers

No they will never age gracefully. One of my friends and her husband wear tee shirts that say just that. They ride motor bikes and drive all over Australia in a group called growing old disgracefully.

Me I'm like you I don't need a group to teach me how!

Damn this is good........
I feel like I can hear you doing the narration as I read it.......I will never grow old!  I refuse to do so.  Call it the Peter Pan Syndrome if you must......but we should all act as we feel, not as we are!

Thanks for bringing a many a chuckle to me as you again take us down a very familiar lane!

Forevermore Strat, you are entertaining! I saw myself in everything you wrote! I love Blue Oyster Cult and find myself cranking up my Bose when I listen to them. A much better sound at a high level too! This was so fun to read. You write very well and I am always glued to your compositions! sam

Strat

".......my Dad would have probably considered the idea of going to, say, a Rolling Stones concert just to bond with one of his kids as essentially the same thing as going to hell just to light a cigar. "

Terrific post as usual and I'd be with your dad. LOL

I don't know when that age hits us, OTA.
I do know some folks who got away with it frm the time God was a pup; others suddenly became that craxzy old bat at a certain age. With me, I'm hoping the writing thing sufficently cloaks my inability to spout whatever's on my mind, tourets like, in front of God and everybody.

Glad you enjoy my stuff!

Strat, I always say to myself after I read something you have written.. man he is good. What I want to know and living in the south you might have the answer... at what age do we get to say exactly what we want? You know what I mean? It seems the older people get , the less they care about what anyone thinks and say the most outrageous things.. because.... because.. they can. My mother skipped the age requirement and went straight to saying whatever the hell she wants.. all of my life. Is that a southern thing ya think? ok. sorry for the rambling comment. I always feel like I visited a neighbor when I read your posts.~ peace

LMAO, strat...so always LOVE your posts, you are a GREAT writer
I REFUSE to grow up, my daughter has even said to me once, " I feel like I'm the Mom and your the daughter." I just laughed. I dress a little bit younger, I listen to new and old music, I go out on dates, I go drinking with my friends.... I'll probably be the old lady that evrybody makes fun of....wonder if the'll accept the golden buckeye card at the bars... lol
