What interests me, and what I kind of like, I don't really hear a usual voice. Reminds me of Louie Prima and Kealy Smith (OLD BLACK MAGIC). Louie would be exhuberating, dancing around, interjecting, and leading his jazz band, while Kealy would just stand there, straight laced, singing the song (she had a wonderful voice) as if nothing was happening around her. What a wonderful act.
I get this feeling in the 2 peices I read--something flat, dispassionate, and a complete understatement--not in your lines/imagry, but its very tonality. Very interesting.
