Are those beautiful Turkish shoes on your pretty toesies??

My brother sent me a travel guide referral done by the New York Times for his town, Phoenix, and the idiots recommended a restaurant in the deep and dangerous part of the barrio and offered up other really boring and yucky places as suggestions. He asked, "Who are these people writing about MY city?" He made me laugh...

I would write really kooky things about my town, but I live here.

My sister says that articles about her Guadalajara, Mexico, still say to go to the Plaza de los Mariachis, downtown, when it is one of the most dangerous spots in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods now, especially at night.

One has to remember the tourist and their cluelessness and aloneness. My brother followed an historical map of Atlanta and wandered into a neighborhood in his suit and tie and face of a stranger, until a man came up to him and offered to accompany him to keep him safe. That was a nice local person.

My husband brought home lost tourists when we lived in Guadalajara, but did they know who they were accompanying?? This was in the safer 60s, however, he was a non-English speaking stranger.

It is nice of you to give local and updated information as it saves time for strangers who visit.

I wouldn't know art from accident! Yet, the painting reminded me of a construction I saw in Florida. Some tourist thing!
