Using your words...
I have been writing a Blog for my family & friends for 2 years now. We're spread across the country and it's a way to keep in touch. A comment on my Blog this morning initiated a discussion about God. I don't believe in coincidence...I'm sure everything happens for a reason. If I took a few minutes at the end of an extremely busy day yesterday to log into Blogit.com and read my favorites (of which you are part), then it was meant to be. Your words were exactly what I needed for my own Blog. Of course, I did tell them from whom and where it came.
I'm new in here, as you can probably tell by my lack of posting. I'm not sure what the rules are about copying and using other people's words. Please let me know if I goofed. Either way, thank you for such inspiring writing.

Thought provoking stuff Mike. I always feel that the word God in itself promotes confusion. Human kind has its own sense of spirituality, a life force that perpetuates us and this is as close as I have been able to come to the very concept of God, or a God. It is sufficient to comfort me.

Honestly, I mistook you, when I read the first few paras, for another God-basher. But your line of reasoning became clearer as I finished reading your post. Excellent.

Wonderful post Mike... truth is that it is what it is :-) Love, G-d, Nature, whatever you wanna call it ... we are it, not part of it but IT, as a drop of water is the ocean ... but its hard to grasp that concept and accept that we, as we know ourselves to be, are nothing but a dream, an ego fantasy of that little drop of water that dreamed she existed independently of what she always was. Great work!

Re: Love this post so very much !
Beautifully stated Cricket, since we are all operating from different states of consciousness, there can be no one path for everyone. That is why tolerance is so important, everyone should be able to approach God, or worship God, as they feel most comfortable. Thank you for sharing that enlightened passage with us.

Love this post so very much !
I'm not a big fan of organized religion. I do think, if that is what one needs to feel closer to God, then good for them. It's good to believe in something, even if we all believe differently. Everyone needs something to believe in.
I've used this beautiful passage many times when talking about religion and I want to share it again, because it touches me so deeply and is exactly how I believe.............The Gospel Of St. Thomas : Jesus said, the kingdom of God is inside you and all around you, Not in mansions of wood and stone..........Split a piece of wood and I am there, lift the stone and you will find me.
I love that passage so very much. I believe God is everything, we are God and God is us, and Love ties it all together and is essential. Thanks, great post!

Beautifully written!
You touch on some very important points here. I've been trying for a quite a few years now to piece together a picture of "god" that makes sense to me. I only use pieces that make sense and ring true for me. I find some of these pieces in Buddhism, some in Christianity, some in less popular spiritual endeavors. I applaud your resistance to slap a label on your spirituality...I've long thought that our relationship with God is beyond that which can be named. Thanks for sharing!
