Oh boy, thanks a million! That brings back memories of the time we 'did' Swinburne in English at UofT - I loved it then, but hadn't even thought about it in a long time. And it also triggered memories of my various adventures on the water, in sailboats and on passenger ships, and on Japanese squid-jiggers in the North Atlantic...

I love the poem--at least, the part you have shared. I love the sea, as long as I am experiencing it from the shore. I'm not quite thrilled at being on it. I don't think I have ever been on the sea when I did not get seasick.
