Re: Looking more for Prophet than Profit
Order this blog when it becomes a book and try again. It's either your promotion skills or your product. No promotion, no readers and without readers, authors dry up. Now writers can thrive alone in the dark, but authors cannot. You need to decide whether you're a writer or an author. Many writers are published, but only authors succeed.

Looking more for Prophet than Profit
Which means I don't cater to a market.  I write what I write because I feel it needs to be written.  This motive is similar to that for my incursions into governmental policy.

Thus I am a poor salesman and a poor politician.  However, I have received much personal affirmation for my belief that I am a great writer and would make a great public servant if I could manage to get elected.

On both fronts, there is this whole self-promotion thing that is keeping me from my goals.  I hate it.  I think selling akin to begging and it shows.

What then to do about selling my books?  I am already on Amazon for POD and it has been a dud.  I have tried e-books in the past and sold not a one.  This leads me to believe that Kindle will be a waste of my time.  Since I am in a rush right now, I will have to leave this brief note with the wistful reflection that it would be nice if somebody could point out where I can most efficiently create excitement about my books and produce sales without actually begging.

Regards,
Carl Peter
