Your poem reminds me of how sweet life was in the last century. I was poor but learning, a good student. My days were filled with rural pleasures: roaming the bushes for fruits or us kids just exploring or bathing all day in the pristine streams. We would go into the bushes and return with bags of yams or choice fruits or spend hours playing cricket.  But then from 1970, change was in the air. The kids grew up and moved on, new kids took over! Play and learn became work and study. An innocent happy world changed into 'face the world'. The older people died. The streams grew muddy and polluted. Drugs  infiltrated. Politics infiltrated. Crime infiltrated. The fruit trees disappeared as developers bulldozed everything. The world had changed physically and spiritually. Paradise was lost. The surge by the dark side had won, leaving so many of us victimized and licking our wounds. So God is to be thanked for giving me a taste of how heaven on earth could be. It is with open eyes that we experienced that period. It is with open eyes that we now confront the present.  In this valley of the shadow of death, evil should not be feared! It is easy to live within nature and be happy. It is harder to face the world that the dark side has engineered and try to regain the Paradise that was lost!

Lovely
I think I'm beginning to see more often, rather than just spend time looking. People like you help me to see and I thank you. Thanks also for your comment on my blog earlier.

That is beautiful, Sinome.
"The best way to forget is to find something to remember."
One can always find that when they look at the world with open eyes.

Sinome
What a great poem! I think we all at times do not look carefully, not being truly attentive to the things we see - this reminds us to look at the world with more conscious eyes, to be more engaged...

Sinome
So much to think about here.....very rich imagery and thoughts.....makes me realize how much the way I look at the world has changed over the years.....heavy (in a good way!).

I like your thoughtful poem , the long verse that in English is so charming and deep in the meantime. Harpo47

Stunning imagery. For me it lyric, an idyl and laden with philosophical intones. It is fabulous and breath taking, I mean breath taking imagery! I want to feature this one at my blog tomorrow. I want to read it again and make another comment to. It is very late for me. PLUTO!

I got your note on the universe and again I was stymied. But the shortest distance between two points is the straight line. Removing the opposite point and inserting an arrowhead of sorts my love travels beyond any preconceived galaxy(ies) infinitely! xoxoxo Sammy
