Leaving the tree up all year?

Strat,

Do you mean, like the lights? That is INSPIRED! The only problem I see with this new tradition is what birds will do to the tree when it is nearly nesting season. They love to steal tinsel, polyester fiber-fill, basketball netting, cotton thread, hemp, (ahem!) plastic, moss, shingles, rubber roofing, EVERYTHING to make nests from, in the Spring! What will a tree look like after the birds have finished picking it over? You are right, it should go to the basement. Now, about all those creepy looking, dusty cobwebs,..................You just CAN'T win!

Hiya, Kris/Sis!
Yeah, Christmas tree in the basement is a little weird..I mean, what (or who) else is down there? But I'l never get tired of all my tv specials, much as I purport to despise TV...

Strat the brilliat as usual and right on the knocker
I was in the Mall outside the dollar shop and people were buying decorations like crazy.Thank you God that Wiley and I can have a gentle unhussled Christmas stocking full of love gifts and we don't have to do anything else. All his and my children will be happy with a gift voucher so that's that!

For maybe another day or so it will be a relief
to hear Christmas commercials instead of campaigning.  But if I watch tv or go out shopping too much, Christmas will be old and over for me long before Dec 25.

Strat
Well, little bro', not having to take down the Christmas tree would be really appealing to lots of folks!  I know several folks who keep their tree, fully decorated, in the basement......I mean, it kind of gives me the creeps personally.  I'm with you, I watch all those movies every year.....little Natalie Wood is still my favorite.  I hadn't thought about the old maid bit....I used to work with a woman who would lament that she would rather be able to say she was divorced than never married....she never was and it is a fact that we all pitied her in our heart of hearts. As always, great write we can all identify with....no one does it like you.
