Corbin

I figured that was the answer! The guy certainly has interesting qualities! Intensity is good - it depends how it is employed...

And while some Israelis and many American Jews view his appointment as positive, it appears that Netanyahu (who happens to be one of my favorite Israeli politicians, because he is not willing to give away the store to achieve peace) was 'wary' of Emanuel when he was in the Clinton admin...

He is a certain stereo-type personified. I'll let your imagination do the wandering.

"Someone has to keep the liberal Congress in line."

Re: Re: Recollections
Rahm better be careful! If he puts on his old ballet shoes and gets anywhere cloes to Barney Frank then this comment may be turned around on him!

Recollections
While it is true that Rahm Emanuel plays hard-ball, it does not follow that his appointment sets a partisan tone for the administration.  After all, some of the issues Emanuel worked on in the Clinton Administration include NAFTA and  Welfare Reform.  He worked with his Republican counterpart on setting the rules for the debates in the campaign.  Obama chose him for his ability to get things done.  So long as Obama sets the agenda, his 'new politics' is still very possible.  Someone has to keep the liberal Congress in line.
