Mordent,
This was a good read, scary but good! There is no sane retort to anything you wrote and I am frightened!

Interesting post, as always, althought to me this whole gay marriage thing is a total bore. But I am opposed to it for one and
only one reason: One could probably not prevent gay couples from adopting kids, and that's not a good idea! There is no need to add to the numbers of f****d up children we already have...

Re:
Young people are more open-minded and that's why cultural communism works on them. It's the same as the army for 18 year olds. One wonders if they weren't taught lefty tolerance in schools what they would think of gays?
But you're right, sooner or later gays will get their marriage ticket.

You're really a fascinating read. LOL As I've said before, I may not agree
with everything you say, but you have major talent...you could definitely write editorials of this sort of a syndicated political press.

Obama and Biden, and many others, take the safe and cowardly route of supporting civil unions or other forms of near-equality for gays, but draw the line at actual gay marriage. I don't blame them. In most of the country, a huge majority feels that way. They are frightened by the term, in part because they can't articulate any reason for their beliefs. Rick Santorum tried to argue against gay marriage. The best he could do was say that the burden of proof is on gays to prove that gay marriage will be good for society as a whole. Even he admits it will be good for gays, but he argues that's not enough.
I would say the burden of proof is on those who oppose gay marriage, since it is obvious gay marriage will help gays. Banning something good for a segment of the population is only justified if you can show proof that it will do actual harm to society as a whole. And there is no proof of that.
I will adopt something of your pose here, and say what I believe about blacks opposing gay marriage. It is based in religious belief and plain ignorance. The two generally go hand in hand.
But young people are more accepting of gay marriage, not do to indoctrination due to your imaginary friends, the Cultural Communists, but do to their own life experiences. They know gays, they know about gays, and they see nothing to fear. So, in a generation, gay marriage will become generally accepted, even in Puritan America.
