Great photos. I never eat a mushroom that I don't get at the market or on my plate in a fancy restaurant. That reminds me, I still have some portabello soup in the fridge that is very good. I must serve it with dinner.

Fab photos, as usual. And no, I don't know much about mushrooms either, though I do recognize my favourites - chanterelles, which are plentiful in Nova Scotia, although I haven't found many here, outside of the supermarket...
When they're fresh, just brush them, (no washing!), into the pan with a little butter, thyme, s&p to taste, and saute them lightly - the aroma will fill the house, and they're delicious on toast, or by themselves, and go well with a light red or even a robust white...
