Go to Malcolm's midwife: Words from the heart

People like that are just miserable human beings. I don't question God often but I am always asking him why someone like that is even allowed to have children when I know so many people who would be devoted to a child and cant have them.

Forgive Me Oh Lord AGAIN.

i've known of someone like that. these people are beyond disgusting. i really hope the child does not suffer too much - she already has a failed parent. and thanks for sharing this. more people need to know of these weeds of society.

We were not fortunate to catch my daughter's ailment with her eye and it was too late to save it even though we patched it! The lady is awful because we never allowed our daughter to even begin to think that her disability could be used as a crutch! The woman doesn't deserve her child nor supplement from your wife's school. She is a bad lady in this instance! I commend your wife for sticking to her principles. I imagine she has touched the lives of many youngsters that could never be equated with money. What a beautiful human being! sam

So sad when you choose to ignore the basic needs of children when help is avaiable. It is difficult not to be angry when this happens -it is a subtle abuse being ignored .

It's hard to understand some parents where it comes to their parenting. And, greed is an ugly characteristic.

Lovely to hear about Susan's dance school......it's people like you who make a difference; God bless you both. But what a sad story about the little girl; hard to imagine the mother's attitude, but sadly enough, it's not uncommon. Thanks for stopping by.

Your wife is right. 'Passing the wealth around' is up to the giver not the government. This woman is a free loader. Thank your wife for me.

Malcolm
Good work Susan is doing and that lady freeloader would be hard to take. We have that kind here too, actually, a lot of this town. Great to read you again my friend.

Sometimes we have to judge for the sake of helping the helpless
Can I join you in your brooding corner?

Spiritually, we should not judge...
but socially, sometimes we have to.
I'd let the kid learn to dance. Saying no to these parents for reason of their selfishness isn't going to influence them to be less selfish because it only punishes the kid, not the parents. They are clearly not about the child's welfare. And the lifeline could indeed be a saving grace for the child who, without another model, may grow up damaged and just like them.

Clearly the mother has different priorities to you or me
I can't help thinking however that the dancing might throw a lifeline to a child like that. Life chances are already severely reduced for a child with a mother who is a benefit cheat, smoker, and clearly selfishly stupid.

Indeed a sad story... unfortunately not all parents deserve to be parents. The good news is that children are very resiliant and grow up in spite of most terrible things that are done to them. The social services system is not perfect, maybe some supervision and accountability should be implemented... as for example regular check ups for the children of families that claim them for government help, to make sure they are in good health and being taken care of. Sad indeed that nothing like that exists there in your country or in this one.
