My DIL in FL teaches middle-school-age children.  This year she has 147 students in multiple classes including my granddaughter, her step-daughter.  I wonder if she would have a job if her students hired and fired.

Wow!   that is just plain crazy... Why would we put such weitght on our kids shoulders,  are we that irresponsible?  that lazy?  Childhood keeps getting shorter and  shorter.  very sad.

Why not, I ask you? The kids already control the household TV,
what used to be parental decisions on what brand clothes to buy, what food to eat, where to go on vacation, and in some cases, whether or not parents can take a job in another town becaue they don't want to leave their friends.   (but seriously, Naut, the idea is ridiculous and insane on the face of it.)

Way over the top

I always try to give others the benefit of the doubt as I would like them to do the same for me... but making kids decide who are suppose to be qualified to teach.... hmmmmmmmmmm... I think is too much to be given the benefit that there's some sense on it.

Children can be part of the evaluation of teachers every end of the school year, as we used to do in highschool, but only for the purpose of improving their methods and/or curriculum.

Naut, I wrote a comment on Part I.

Thanks...

Naut
I am no expert in these things.. but it seems to me that asking a child.. or mental patient to make choices like this is just lazyness on the part of those in charge. While a childs thoughts and ideas should always be listened to and validated , giving them too much say in who their teachers are going to be seems a mighty slippery slope to me. Part of my childrens learning has been to learn of the different peronalities in teachers themselves.. a training for adult life relationships. ~Peace, OTA

All jokes on the side: it is a serious problem! The kids think they're so good, too good to do anything actually!
