Oh good lord...
...and I don't mean that as a religious reference!

The torture thing is crazy but why can't atheists have their own focus? Give them a photo of someone they love and I'm sure it would have the same effect. Nutty if you ask me...did you ask me? Hehe!

Naut
I have always felt that a firm belief in something bigger than our selves – faith – can play an integral part in healing. (Though I’ve never been tortured to reach this conclusion).

Meditating and hypnosis (even self-hypnosis) will do the same! A little crystal to dangle in front of your eyes with that?

Might help ease the pain if the drug companies and big medicine
HMOs would see patients as people, treat them humanely and stop charging "an arm and a leg" for their services.

I don't think the picture would help me at all. And, I don't think I would agree to be tortured just to find out.

loll Naut... nothing new as they discovered. In the Islands a Babalao or witch Dr. ( I am sure he would resent my calling him that) can give a patient in pain a stone and tell him said stone would stop the pain, 9 times out of 10 the pain dissapears or gets better. Its just in our mind darlin' all in our mind :-)
