Obviously I just rebelled.  Which is why I know the actual origin of AIDS and its prevalence patterns in various parts of the world, I know the history of Christianity and its doctrines, I know the theory of evolution and the factual support on which it is based and why it is fundamentally incompatible with most religions.  I simply choose to call this education and maturing because that fits better with my vision of myself than admitting I'm just a childish rebel.

I am neither liberal, or christian
and I don't often agree with you. But I find the fact that you have the balls to state what you feel, whether it be p.c. or not, truly refreshing. You also state them very well. Don't change a thing.   mike

Re: Talk about fallacy

You're probably right about AIDS origin but the overwhelming amount of AIDS in the West is of gays/IV drug users.

Maybe in Africa it's hetero's.

Yeah moderate use of pot/alcohol is probably harmless but the amount of destructive overindulgence in this country is huge. Look around you unless you live on the moon.

Libs who were raised as Christians obviously just rebelled.

But people who start out confused/lost and maybe drug-addicted end up with Christ.

Talk about fallacy
Gay sex did not create HIV.  It probably came from monkeys in Africa, and most victims of HIV in the world are heterosexuals, and got it through heterosexual contact.

Free love does contribute to the spread of STD's, but condom use and education, two things advocated by liberals, dramatically decrease spread of STD's.

Liberals do oppose capital punishment, but the liberals I know (not personally but in the more general sense) don't favor abolishing punishment for murderers and rapists.  Lock them up permanently, but humanely.  Violence against the weak cannot be tolerated.

Abortion is not murder anymore than miscarriage is negligent homicide.  But unwanted pregnancy is better avoided so the need to choose disappears.  That's the liberal view.

The problem with Christianity is that Christians do have an absolute of right and wrong, but can't agree on what it is, or show any justification for it except, "God said so."  As they can't produce God to verify or justify their position, they take up arms to defend their views.  Liberals prefer to judge based on actual effects of the laws they enact.

Does drug use cause damage to users?  Invariably?  Does alcohol consumption?  I find your premise doubtful.  I contend that there are millions of moderate drinkers who suffer no damage from their habit, and possibly millions of pot smokers who suffer no damage.  If you have evidence to the contrary, present it.  Being a liberal, I'll gladly look at the evidence, and then draw conclusions from it.

Most of the liberals I know were raised as Christians, and as a result of education and maturing, left Christianity behind, along with Santa Claus and Trick-or-Treating.  So it seems to me you've got it backwards.

I like reading your thoughts. I don't think anyone knows the end times. It seems that history shows many thought they were there and all was in vain! I think it is best to live in the moment and help as many as one can to attain their goals! sam

your "most" Christians

also has a hollow ring to it.

the biggest group in the Christian Community is what are called the "evangelicals"; however, they don't make up a majority.   That's made up of Catholics, Lutherans, Presbyterians, Mthodists, Episcopalians, etc., who do not ascribe to "Bible Prophecy" as an aspect of their religion.

Also, among those who di believe in Bible Prophecy, we have dozens of different interpretations.

I KNOW OF TENS OF MILLIONS OF CHRISTIANS WHO HAVE BEEN LIBERALS

all their lives.

Liberals don't "become Christians"; people, no matter their religion, become either liberal or conservative or in between due to circumstances in their lives.
