- Go to Obama 'redistribution of wealth' interview. Listen and weep.
Re: Re: Re: cantey
So, um, a shift in tax burdens is now Communist? And it is John McCain who keeps talking about creating opportunity as opposed to giving away tax money. So I guess Obama is a socialist and McCain is a Communist? Funny how language changes so quickly.

Re: cantey
Establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity. Sounds like creating opportunity to me. What else is government supposed to do?

LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE TRYING TO PUT WORDS IN HIS MOUTH
WHAT DO YOU THINK HE'S SAYING?
I see that he just commenting oin the fact that the Constituino is a "thou shalt not" document in the Bill of Rights -- he doesn't make any sort of judgement -- and he doesn't say anything that hasen't been said for several decades now and is pretty well recognized by Constitutional scholars.
He is also saying that Civil Rights leaders of the 60's sort of "anchored" themselves to the Constituion and din't emphasize much else -- where he is saying that legislation should be enacted for change.
and the "redistribution"? I didn't see wealth there -- I saw opportunity and such.
For opportunity does not exist in certain areas -- opportunity of education, housing, job training, jobs.
This is the redistributino I see himtalking about. And wealth follows. And tax paying citizens.
