Firstly, I understand and apreciate the obvious reason and compassion in your comment. Yes, I believe it is possible if the child is not already genetically predisposed, because I happen to believe that homosexuality can result from trauma and/or exposure to it. Now this is not the sole reason why a person is gay, there are many reasons why people are gay: many of them are born that way. If they are born that way, that is a different issue. The ones that were not neccessarily born with the predisposition but find themselves later in life with compelling desires and urges are the ones I was addressing.

Seeing same sex stuff makes me want to hurl my cookies as well but I live with the knowledge of two things that put my mind to rest. It ain't contagious and no amount of exposure to, or advertising, or promotion alone, will get anyone to switch hit (so to speak).
Now coaxing and encouraging children out of the closet is a totally different matter. It is high time that our societies stopped ostracising those born with different preferences, stopped ignoring the critically high gay teen suicide rates and started viewing a small segment of our populaces with a little more common sense.
They must be accepted, as all members of society should be. Along the route to this acceptance, inevitably the heterosexual community will be over exposed and made to feel uncomfortable . . . but if this social trend saves just one kid from suicide, I'll find a way to keep my cookies down.
