Re: The Universe

Aardi,

My God, then, is your "Pan-en-theism!" All changing dependent arising, staying and fading away phenomena are at the behest of this transcendent God!

Thanks for your comments. They are highly valued!

Ariala,

I must say that of all the comments which occur to-date on this page, yours are the most appropriate to the particular aspect I am attemping to convey in the post which inspired them: "God is creative...God is life...all things... pour out of him and create, just like an artist..." the heart of it all being the "simple" statement that "God is Love!" If we miss this aspect of God, no matter how eloquently, eruditely, or intelligently expressed, then we are missing the canvas upon which all else is painted!

Thank you so much for your valuable insight!

Mousehop has pointed me to the refutation of the article I pointed to in my previous comment.  I wish I had more time to analyze these theories, but I'm not a cosmologist/astronomer who gets paid to think about these matters, so I'll let it slide for now.  I'll still stick to eternal arising and fading of phenomena and the beginningless nature of time anyway.  The alternative does not correspond with my direct experience of life.

New Info
I've run into some new info (new for me) that supports my intuition about the beginningless and endless nature of the Universe and this is even so for the observable Universe.  If these alternative theories, based on the actual observation of Galaxies, is more accurate than the Big Bang theory, the whole core of currently popular cosmological models fall apart and our children are getting taught utter nonsense in science classes on the subject of the origin of the Cosmos.  Not that we didn't suspect that already.  What surprises me is how old this info already is and I have not seen this mentioned anywhere in mainstream media.  Why the agenda to keep this information hidden?  Big Lie?

The Universe
is the aspect of God that is finitely experienceable through the senses and measurable with instrumentation and computation to some degree.  From my point of view there was no beginning and there will be no end even though we can trace a point of origin to the "beginning" of all that we have been able to observe and compute and what was before that, lies outside our field of observation in terms of time, distance and composition and will remain speculation.  Since all phenomena we have observed thus far came about in dependence on other phenomena we can with a large degree of certainty postulate that there has been and always will be phenomena.  So to me one aspect of God is this eternal ever changing dependent arising, staying and fading away of specific phenomena, the whole process of arising, staying and fading away and that which is not this process which makes this process possible.  This is why I hold to God as the Universe and that which transcends the Universe as we know it - Pan-en-theism.

Yes, a pouring out and expansion.

The Universe is an expression of love and being and thinking and...
God is creative...God is life...all things that are living pour out of him and create, just like an artist...

Re: BUT GOD IS THE UNIVERSE AND THE UNIVERSE IS GOD

God is Infinite and has always existed. The universe has not always existed, and is not Infinite in the same sense; it is an "open-ended Infinity; it had a definite beginning!

God created the universe.  God is NOT the uninverse. He transcends it and, as its creator, is Greater than the Created! God does not need the universe.

BUT GOD IS THE UNIVERSE AND THE UNIVERSE IS GOD
God is not separate from the Universe, inform, mind or any other kind of substance.

The fault lies in separating god from the universe as an anthropologically formed male.
