ammon - do you ever get tired of embarrassing yourself?

You obviously didn't read any of the links you provided, they are mostly about grave robbing with no mention of teenagers. Two references were found to Satan however, the one article you linked to was about people reacting to a rumour involving Satanic activity (no real activity occurred) the other one had this "The grave robbers hit the Bible Hill Cemetery sometime between Oct. 30 and Nov. 2, Brown said. He said police were considering a number of theories, including the possibility that the body was unearthed by members of a Satanic cult."

Stop wasting my time with your nonsense. If you cannot substantiate your statement from the previous post, act like a man and admit it.

Re: Gomedome – Ripping dead people up out of their graves is a serious offense,

ammon - where in these comments have I been rude to you or called you names? I view it as entirely your problem that you are willing to make statements that you cannot substantiate and cannot handle it when you are called on them. One more time: "Even if Satan does not exist, purposeful evil is conducted by humans in his name and on his behalf."

Where are your facts? Now you attempt to escalate the severity of the teenage vandalism you described earlier with a little more fiction? Ripping dead people out of their graves? Where did that happen? Don't they bury people 6 feet under in your country? Are you telling me that teenagers dug people up, presumably with shovels? If you are attempting to say this, all I can say is that this is the best of your whoppers so far. It would also no longer be considered as vandalism, which is generally spontaneous and without purpose, it would have had to be planned and deliberate. Not to mention a heck of a lot of hard work.

The more your story is examined, the more it becomes apparent that you are still struggling with integrity issues. Keep dropping drivel like this in my comments and I will block you.

Gomedome – Ripping dead people up out of their graves is a serious offense,
even if it was conducted by juveniles.  Mutilating animals is a serious offense, even if it was conducted by juveniles.  Another thing that is juvenile is your use of rudeness and name calling, instead of substance, to combat people who disagree with you.  And when that doesn’t run them away, you just block them.  Maybe you should name this blog:  “No dissenters tolerated”.

Bhaskar.ing - that is how I view it
The catholic church for example, proliferates the mythology of demonic possession which in turn creates the anxiety of being possessed by the devil. An affiliction which they not so coincidently have a ritual cure for. If this cycle is examined by someone who does not believe in such things, it becomes clear that it is primarily the anxiety which causes the symptoms of demonic possession, therefore the catholic church is the cause of demonic possession. Nice work if you can get it. A lot like the guy with a pellet gun who goes out at night shooting at car windows but also happens to own an auto glass business. Who are they trying to fool?

gomedome
Sometimes I view the Christian concept and perspective of Satanism as a means of making God survive in a godless world. That is the politics and the whole interest of the clergy - and through god, ensuring their own survival. God cannot be without the devil.

Luz_Briar - when it is looked at with an objective eye it all seems to be

nothing more than bullshit.

At least the vast majority of it. The mythology itself, adhering to it as if it is meaningful and people's willingness to believe these unsubstantiated stories is the actual culprit. So far I've only been able to uncover a few stories of mentally ill people who believed the mythology who acted upon it. All loners and very isolated. It is a completely uneccessary anxiety.

ammon - demonology and its symbols are only profound to the ignorant

Seriously man, is that the best you can come up with? A list of fictitious characters created by people who in today's world would barely have a primary school equivalency? Is your entire world fiction?

It is probably a waste of time to point out that your attempting to address the significance of the concept of good versus evil, with evil personified by a fictitious character named Satan, is irrelevent to the point of this post and the one previous. We are all quite aware of the concept, thank you, it is substance that we are speaking of here. You seem to be struggling with that.

To clarify; I am examining if there is any substance to claims made by a great number of people, (an example of which would be your groundless statement from the last post) that Satanism is any form of significant social ill. So where are these people you describe? "Even if Satan does not exist, purposeful evil is conducted by humans in his name and on his behalf."  . . . . surely a grown man would not make a statement such as this without some basis in fact?  Where are your facts? So far you have come up with a few dead cats and some teenage vandalism.

You seem truly unwilling to recognize

the profoundness of spiritual symbolism.  Satan and the hoards of demons that I listed for you previously have together represented the evil tendency in man since the dawn of civilization.  Trying to dispel that is like trying to come up with a new color for black.  It’s too ingrained.

Anyone can look at the world and see that man struggles with himself, against the evil tendency.  It is not anything that can be denied.  Satan is the personification of all that man struggles not to be.  Except for those who rebel for no other reason but to be rebellious, different, and apart from the collective goodness.
