I agree...
That's why I am non-denominational clergy. I write the words for the service to talk about and celebrate the deceased's life not religious stuff. I've even done military services that way. If I want to hear religious stuff, I'll go to church or temple. I want to honor the dead at a funeral, not religion.

Funerals.
When attending a funeral, (something I rarely do) I always hope that nobody comments about how "natural" the deceased looks, laying there in the box, because I would have to bite my tongue to keep from saying, "If you think that he/she looks natural now, you should have seen 'em LAST WEEK!"
