I think the concept is wonderful, it execution is misguided. Giving loans to folks who can afford it is senseless to me! sam

Expansion
One might argue that much of what goes on in campaigns is bad for the same reasons. Both parties have extensive organizations to flood neighborhoods with ads and information, not to mention the whole get-out-the-vote thing. ACORN has a specific agenda, and believes registering the unregistered will help them toward their goals. In their defense, it is quite possible that many people registered by ACORN are interested but discouraged; they have lost faith in the system, and need direct contact to restore their faith. It's easy to get cynical about politics.

Unfortunately it's necessary, because many people haven't learned yet how important it is on election day to vote early and vote often...
