Tomorrow will be better...
at least that's what mom always said.
A rose or two and
Woof! from the wonder dog and from me too!

I live check to check , from sale to sale, from hand to mouth and I don't

worry about the future as there is little that I can do about it, but embrace its' daily arrival.

I only see catastrophic illness changing any of your simple plans, Greenfields, and no savings can really change that, as even Bill Gates with tons of money can't reverse the effects of a stroke, for example.....

May all move along smoothly in your life forever, as a gently flowing river.

We're all worried about the financial crisis because the news is
constantly in our faces, on TV, in newspapers, on radio, in gossip on the street. There's no getting away from the worry. I never had much more than enough to live from paycheck to paycheck until all the kids had grown and gone, but managed to save a little during the last fifteen years of my work life. Over the past few months, ten percent of it has gone up in a puff of smoke. I've decided to sit tight, not panic. If the stock market does what it has always done in the past it will bounce back and my savings will recoup. If it doesn't, at least I haven't wasted a lot of time and mental health in a state of panic.

Greenfields
Like you I do not have much interest in the stock market beyond how the rise and fall that effects me as a trickle down . Living in a country where we do have social security (right now anyway) is not really all that comforting because of the constant rumbling of it not being available by the time I am ready to retire. So I put away as I can, not depriving my children or myself of things we need now for what we may never need in the future. I have lived in faith that I will and do have what I need. It has worked for me so far and have faith that it will in the future. ~OTA
