- Go to And in Ann Arbor: They Live Longer if He Screams at Her and She Shuts Up...
What's the mystery?
She really wants to know how he feels, he really doesn't want to know how she feels.

haaaa, the good old stereotype of the "understanding" wife...In French we say to put water in your wine (to "mellow" the effect of what you say or in other words, try to be diplomatic about it!).

Funny you should mention this, Naut... I mean it -- funny!
And it's also weird. "They" live longer if she shuts up? What kind of nature contrarian theory is that? I'm glad I'm not paying taxes to support research in Ann Arbor. You'll always be my favorite, Naut -- I love a guy who makes me laugh. And think.

Nautikos
I doubt that the study considered the fact that most men don't let their negative emotions out to anyone but their spouses.....while women are usually more openm with their friends and female family members...so very probably the logevity factor actually comes from the fact that neither is actually suppressing.....she's just waiting until she can run screaming to her friends or sister to unload...... Doubtless this research was only conducted by men

so they didn't consider this before jumping to conclusions. Of course, I could be comletely wrong......but my couch does do a rather brisk business
