I haven't, but I have to say that that man is a saint. He must love his woman very very much. It is comforting to see that selfless people still exist.

you are very lucky I don't think there are a lot that make it in extended families unless the kids are real young or older and on their own

your daughter sounds like mine, not someone a man wants to take on

The man I married was great but his children had a big adjustment to make. My children took our new Dad in stride. Somehow it all works out. The kids grow up..Lol

Lustor,
my daughter-in-laws father raised 4 children of his own, college and all, then divorced and married a much younger woman with 5 children and had one child with his new wife.  The five were problem children and the one he had late in life is my daughter-in-law, she is a wonderful woman.

I met someone when my daughter was going through her very troublesome teens and we lived together 5 years.  He was pretty patient will all the drama but I really did feel caught in the middle of the two of them.  A man can’t really come on the scene at age 12 and expect to dole out authority – it just doesn’t work.  I wouldn’t necessarily say it was the difficult task of me always trying to keep peace that broke us apart but it was certainly a contributing factor.  As most around here know, I married at 50 and my husband endured the worst of times with my daughter.  Now, thank God, at age 24 she is a shining young woman.
