All that sound pretty gross, but then again, the Inuits eat whale fat (tuktuk?)  dip in seal's oil or liquified warm fat. Anything to try to keep warm. And my Mann said that the whale just taste awful, with or without the dip!

Thanks for that enlightening post. My neighbours here in Turkey are all Brits and believe it or not, when they come here they carry fod stuff in their luggage, among it pork scratchings. Yuk,yuk, yuk is all I can say. Thanks also for your comment. When in Canada I will drop by with my little travel iron under my arm and iron your shirt, but only if you give me walnut bread in return. Definitely NO pork scratchings are acceptable or I'll leave wrinkles in your shirt.

Just about anything tastes good when you are camping in the wilderness and cooking over a campfire, especially if in the cold snow and ice where Shackleton tromped.

O my! I have a hard time eating as it and that would never work. I am so glad you had time to stop by my blog Naut. I forgot to bring your discussion forward. I have fixed it now. Not having the greatest day. Thanks for the well wishes, it means a great deal to me. Shelly

Funny thing, when you're out there in the open and the camp stew
starts steaming, the odor makes it so appetizing you can't resist. Biscuits dropped into chicken soup become dumplings -- or to be clear, raw biscuit dough. The pemmican, though, may be best saved for eating dry while on the march. Or was that gorp?
