Re: I read it -- it's ridiculous -- doesn't even come close to Revelation
Xeno-x - the sad part about it is that simply because it is presented on a nice looking website, there are people in this world that will believe it to be valid information. The entire idea as presented on that website doesn't even pass the laugh test. Somehow, according to them, some entity is going to come up with a way to get the entire human race to agree to have themselves stamped with a mark.

the mark (666) is "the mark of a man" -- Satan is nowhere near that.

don't have to read abouit it -- I've read and heard it all about the Beast
it's like ghosts and goblins -- and all that kind of stuff -- something to be afraid of so that you go running to the good guy hero.
what bothers me most is that every generation believes that this will come to pass in their lifetimes or soon thereafter -- we've been awaiting the "end times" for almost two thousand years now, but they haven't come.
I am sure that this has its roots in some tribal shaman jumping around a fire and relating to his rapt audience some fantastic tale about devils and gods and scaring the bejeebers out of them and then saying that if they follow his prescription for safety they would be all right -- and they did and he was well taken care of because he was the defense against the unseen threat.
I've stated this in my blog -- we look at the very first verses and we find that this about things that "will shortly come to pass" -- meaning of course in the few months or years following the writing of the tome. And many have agreed that the Beast was Nero, whose name adds up to 666.
You have to understand that the book is metaphorical, not actual, mainly to aid in its dissemination without interference by Roman authorities.
