My marriage engagement
was long distance in the eighties, and boy did I EVER spend a bundle in phone bills. I would have gone broke if it weren't for my nice bonus, thanks to that bubble, when money... wasn't so hard to come by, or so it seemed.

Happy Belated Birthday
I didn't spend much time online this weekend, and I missed your day. sorry. Funny how things change with time. I find now I can talk to my parents in the evening, which is convenient as they are three hours west of me, and it doesn't cost a thing. I used to run up impressive bills on those calls. Maybe there is a use for cell phone plans.

Glad you had a good time! Your friend's husband's comment about being glad she was not writing a letter (he was obviously kidding) started a train of thought...no more letters...an art is disappearing! Email...texting...the telephone - new ways of communicating also produce new ways of speaking and
thinking...having a deep effect on the
culture...
