I'm kind of hoping he will vote in the election, even if not for a presidential candidate. My son has stated he will NOT vote for Obama or McCain. He's going to write someone in. Maybe Al Gore, or some other environmentalist nutcase. That's fine with me. I may even join him.

I love your brother's perspective on the relative importance of issues.
I have a son with that same kind of common sense, although he has been a serious activist for gay causes, especially health care. As for his decision not to vote, maybe you could mention to your brother that apathy can elect a really bad president who could run up our debt and keep sending young people into a misguided war. Either way, he's certainly entitled to decide. Nice blog... Write on! :)pat
